I adore this Chinese hat - red on the outside, black on the inside, making black squares in the face of the wearer :) And this kimono thing is really something!

Below: they call this white romper-ish thing a 'swimsuit'! I love it.

I also love this hat, white under, black over, and the black stripe on top...
Note: they were not going to a party (just showing off their status).

Television movies/series like Hercules Poirot and Miss Marple often inspire me fashion wise. (Sadly, what inspires me from the past is mostly impossible to obtain in stores.) They are more or less recent productions, but are set to times like the 40s (when Agatha Christie wrote the novels). Here sharing with you pictures from the movie 'Evil under the sun' (1982).

Lovely 80s earrings. Pale pink dress with sort of puffy sleeves with buttons.

The blazer's color is sth between royal blue and royal purple. The collar is V-shaped without 'flaps'. It is silk heaven!
The shirt is so light i can barely feel it, very appropriate for hot weather. The white mini dress goes with everything. Ingenious!

This black blazer's got heavenly shoulder pads, a round collar and perfect length. Will have to show you later on.

Another pic showing my new bob haircut (will be ajusted). And another shoulder padded blouse ;)

PS, if i knew i was actually gonna post these pics in my blog i would have dusted off the mirror and tidied up in the background first. This mirror is awful btw, and i had to crouch down to get my head in the pictures ;)

About shopping in New York: the vintage stores i went to were a disappointment as most had a poor selection (and were not even vintage) and the prices were NOT low. Hopefully I can find better stores next time. I thought macys and century 21 would be way expensive, but they were not, so i recommend these places - go for quality! And look out for one day sales at macys. Shopping in New York, even in early December, is really chaotic and even the streets are way crowded, i'd rather avoid it, but the christmas displays and ambiance are wonderful - go here while xmas is still magic to you ;)
